Social Distancing Policy
The University’s response must address the following specific:
Definition
Reducing the frequency, proximity and duration of contact between people to reduce the chances of spreading the disease. For example:
- Cancellation of classes/special events such as athletic events
- Elimination of services delivered to groups – such as public dining
- Encourage individuals to limit contact with others by remaining in their homes
Best Practice
Social distancing is the best practice recommendation of public health professionals.
Preliminary Determinations
- Identify essential and emergency departments and necessary support systems
- Clarify policies for workplace closure or reduction
- Determine feasibility and methodology for continuation of the learning experience
- Determine criteria for continuation of research
